On May 30th, we say goodbye to the tourism tornado, Annie Hamilton Emond. After six years of turning Meade County into a destination, a brand, and a weird in all the right ways destination, Annie is off to chase new adventures.
Let’s be honest, no one will ever market Meade County quite like Annie. Who else could launch a witch festival, make a hiking trail sound like the next " big thing", or convince us that we needed an entire day devoted to Craft Beers? Her creativity knew no bounds. Neither did her ability to send 47 emails before 8:00 a.m.
Annie didn’t just do tourism—she was tourism. She didn’t just think outside the box—she repurposed the box, turned it into a spooky attraction, and got it sponsored.
Thank you, Annie, for your wild ideas, endless passion, and for making us believe Meade County is somewhere everyone wants to visit (which, let’s be real, it kind of is).
